In the last days of October I got a job offer in Warsaw that I gladly accepted. Me and Marta were planning the move during all the month of November; I am a bit of a geek and I like to do bulleted lists and spreadsheets for everything so it was very funny to come home one day and see a bulleted list done by my girlfriend with the title Project Warszawa in the top. This list included all sorts of things that we had to do before leaving Kraków, from finding a flat in Warsaw up to unregister our Kraków address.
We visited Warsaw three time to see different flats and finally decided for small one in the east side of the Vistula river. We are close to the tram line and it will get me around 30-45 min. to get to work (20-30 min. to the city centre) which is just perfect.
We considered several options to bring all our stuff from Kraków. Considering that I arrived one year ago with a 70L camping backpack, hand luggage and a laptop I thought that renting a car would be enough, but it turned out that the best option (and much cheaper than renting a car or mini-van) was to ship all our belongings via DHL (I’m really happy with their service by the way).
We arrived yesterday about 15h30 and today we already have done all the unpacking, basic shopping for food and household supplies and the cable guy was here to install TV and Internet. Projekt Warszawa is now completed and I must say it was a huge success.
